image Browser toolbars have been quite popular with internet users as they offer a lot of features which make using internet more fun.

Several websites have created toolbars for their users to make it easy for them to navigate and use the various features and services of the website.

One of the most popular toolbars on the internet is the Google Toolbar, which lets the Google users use various Google services right from their browsers, without having to go to the service page itself. The toolbar is great but, it sometimes it consumes a lot of browser resources and thus slows down the computer.

Googlebar Lite is an alternative for Google Toolbar, which provides almost all the features of Google Toolbar while using minimum system resources. It offers 14 search types, search history auto-completion, customizable toolbar (place it anywhere), search word highlighting, and more!

Googlebar Lite – Features and Options:

Googlebar Lite is highly customizable according to your needs. You might be using one search feature like “Image search” or “Maps Search” more than the others. Googlebar Lite lets you select the buttons that appear on your toolbar.

If you use keyboard shortcuts on a regular basis you would appreciate the keyboard shortcut options for Googlebar Lite.

Google Toolbar Privacy – Advantage of Googlebar Lite:

It has been said that Google toolbar monitors the users internet activity all the time. Although these are just speculations, which shoudl be taken with a pinch of salt – you might want to stay on the safe side.

GoogleBar Lite is not an official Google Product – so any activity you do in your browser, can’t be sent back to Google.

Googlebar Lite Features – Overview:

  • It’s a light-weight alternative to the regular Google toolbar.
  • Consumes minimum system resources and avoids slowing down your computer.
  • Highly customizable to the needs of individual users
  • Provides 14 different search options for any search term.
  • Is available in the context menu for ease of access from any webpage.
  • Provides keyboard shortcuts for faster navigation and usage.

Conclusion:

I have used the Google Toolbar for Firefox and found it to be an indispensable tool while using Google services. Googlebar lite has done a good job in covering most of the features of Google Toolbar – but it does miss out on some of the features. You can use it if you can do without the some of the extra features of Google Toolbar like “Page Rank” and Using Side Wiki.

The best part however is that its extremely lightweight and keeps the browser resource usage on your computer to a minimum. So guys whose computers aren’t really powerful, can think about using this addon as an alternative to the Google Toolbar.
