A PDF file is a great way to save a page and view it on almost any device. With all the free readers out there, it’s hard to find a device that can’t read a PDF. The thing is, not every device can save to PDF. On your Windows computer, Doro will set itself up as a printer allowing you to save anything you can print to a color PDF document.
Doro will act just like a printer only won’t use any paper. It simply makes a PDF file of the document or webpage and saves it to the location you choose. Does that sound like something you could use? Let’s take a more in-depth look.
Getting started
Doro is what is considered Donationware. They present it to you for free but ask for a donation to help the development of the software.

The setup wizard is pretty straight forward and doesn’t require a lot to of interaction from you. However, you will need to extract the exe file from the downloaded zip file.

Using Doro to print as a PDF
When you find something you’d like to print, you can use the right-click menu or File drop-down menu to print like normal.

When the print preview window is displayed, you should be able to select your printer. Look for Doro PDF Writer in the list.

Printing with Doro is not a lot different than printing a paper version. Once you click the print button, another window will open up. You can name the file and add other information like keywords to it.

In the other tabs, you can encrypt the PDF. If you need to password protect the information in it, you can set that up here. As you can see in the image below, there are options to set what the people viewing the PDF can do. You can allow printing or copy and pasting of the information in the PDF.

Once you click the Create button, you will be asked where you want to download the PDF to and that’s it. If you selected the option, your PDF viewer will open up showing the finished product. As you can see, all of the information on the webpage is there. The links are not able to be clicked in this case.

Final words
When it comes to some of the methods and apps out there to create PDFs, some can be more cumbersome than others. Doro is not much different than printing a document or webpage. So if you are comfortable enough to do that, Doro should be pretty easy for you to learn. This is a great way to start going paperless. Combine easy PDF creation with a cloud storage service or Evernote and you have a great way to organize anything you would normally print.
