5-Awesome-Image-Extensions-For-Google-Chrome

Google Chrome has a ton of extensions from privacy to productivity and more.

For photographers or anyone who needs to work with images online, there are some great extensions that will save you time or just let you have some fun. Here are the best.

1. Pixlr

The Pixlr suit of chrome extensions are awesome. And since it wouldn’t look great to have three extensions from the same company inside the top five I’ve put them together. You won’t need all three extensions installed, but you should have at least one.

Pixlr Editor is as close as you’ll get to Photoshop in your browser. It has a lot of advanced image editing features that may be overkill for most people.

If you just need to do some quick and basic image editing such as cropping, resizing, or adding filters then Pixlr Express is the best option for you.

Pixlr-o-matic is a fun and easy way to add retro filters, effects, and borders to a photo. There’s not many options to choose from, it’s all about making your photos look cool.

2. Hover Zoom

Hover Zoom is a must have extension if you browse a lot of image galleries. You can view full size versions of images by mousing over image thumbnails. This saves you from having to load the image in a new page.

Hover Zoom works on a lot of different websites such as Facebook, Google +, Twitter, Reddit and many others.

3. BeFunky Photo Editor

The photo editor extension from BeFunky is somewhere between Pixlr’s Editor and Express versions. It has a lot of image editing options but with a less complicated interface than Pixlr Editor. And it also has all the cool built in filter and border effects that Express has.

One great feature is the ability to paint the effects on a photo so it’s not applied to the image as a whole.

If you need to take screenshots of web pages regularly than Awesome Screenshot is the best tool for the job. It’s simple and easy to use and lets you take a screenshot of the visible window, a selection of the window, or the entire web page.

After you take the screenshot you can crop it, annotate it with symbols, arrows, and text, and erase private information.

5. Image Downloader

Image Downloader is an extension that lets you download all the images on a web page. If you need to download images in bulk this is the best tool for the job.

You can preview all the images before downloading. Choose to download just some of the images. And you can change the width, border size and colors.

Conclusion

These are my favorite extensions for working with images online. Some of them I use everyday and others come in handy when I need them.

But I don’t know everything despite what I keep telling people, and there’s a very slight chance I’ve overlooked an awesome extension. If I have, let’s hear about it in the comments.
