Are you not getting enough comments on your shared posts on Google Buzz? Chances are your friends cannot comment since the comment links are grayed out.
I am fairly active on Google Buzz since its a great place to share and interact with like minded people. However, since a couple of days, no matter what I posted, I received no comments on my posts, which is usually not the case. I have some really active friends on Buzz who have very similar taste and they always have an interesting opinion about almost everything I share.
While I was wondering why suddenly my friends has stopped the interaction, I got an email from one of my Buzz friends telling me he couldn’t comment on any of my posts, and all the comment links were grayed out. All he could see was “Comments on this item have been restricted by the owner”. Any content that was shared from the mobile or any other social network feeds had the option for commenting, except Google Reader.
So how do we enable “grayed out” comments on Google Buzz:
Recently I moved all my Google Buzz contacts into “Social Media Contacts” group. However, I didn’t make a necessary change in my Google Reader settings so as to let my friends to comment on my posts. You can easily enable commenting on your posts by changing sharing settings within Google Reader as shown below.
Click on the Sharing Settings on the Left Panel of Google Reader

Under the “Who can see your shared items” select the group you may have created and check the box that lets your contacts comment on your shared items.
If you haven’t created a group, you may need to add them to a specific group in your contacts and allow them to comment via these settings.

Once this is checked all your contacts would now be able to comment on your shared items in Google buzz. No more grayed out comment links! Hope this would be helpful for some of you guys.
Hat Tip to Stacy Cockrum for pointing out this issue.
