I think selecting WordPress over all the other blogging platforms is one of the best decisions I’ve taken regarding blogging. Its light weight, full of excellent features, constantly updated and has a thriving and vibrant community of developers helping it become the most most popular and preferred blogging platform.
Keeping up with this spirit WordPress has just released a new iPad application. WordPress for iPhone OS is now optimized to take advantage of the iPad’s new user interface, making blogging even easier than ever before.
WordPress App for iPad – Great New Features:
Write, add photos, check your spelling, and even create links without having to write a single line of code or HTML.
Bigger Screen Area equals comfortable writing
If you own an iPhone, you could blog with WordPress App for iPhone from any location, but the screen wasn’t really big enough for a comfortable writing. However, with iPad, there is no constrain of space and you can now have much bigger display area as we can clearly see below.
When you are composing a post, if you need some more room, just rotate the screen and you would be able to write in landscape mode.
With the spell checker working great, that occasional typo won’t be able to slip through.
Location Mapping Features:
On the iPhone, sharing your location when you post to your WordPress blog is a cinch. Just tap the Geotag icon on the Write screen, and watch as WordPress locates you on the map.
It’s a great way to share where you were when you posted to your blog. Geotagging will be available on the iPad when the 3G model comes out in late April.
Inserting Photos in Posts:
Add as many photos as you like — WordPress will automatically insert them into your post. Both high resolution and web optimized photos look and work great.
Comment Management Made Easy:
This feature is the best among all. You may not always have something to write about when you are on the move, but you can always moderate and reply to comments. For popular posts, you can quickly bulk moderate comments through the intuitive interface.
Currently its available only in English an International version would be welcome as many WordPress users blog in other languages. Go ahead give it a try. WordPress for iPad can be downloaded here.
So how did you like the WordPress Application for iPad? Any other features you would like to see in upcoming versions? Tell us about in the comments.
