Google+ announced it has updated its Games section to what it is calling “Level 2.” Over the last few weeks, a few new games have been released but this update to the functionality of Google+ Games introduces comments on game posts and an improved Games Stream with keyboard shortcuts.
While these may seem like minor updates, they are features that many Google+ users suggested and the company has now implemented into the social network. Let us take a look at how these features improve Google+ Games.
New Features in Google+ Games
The first improvement to Google+ Games comes in the form of how you share information in the Game Stream. You can now add your own comments before posting about your gaming experience.
Depending on the game you are playing, you will share information in different ways. This is what it looks like to share something from Angry Birds on Google+.

The Games Stream has also been streamlined to update in real time. This means that as you game, those looking at the Game Stream will see exactly what you are doing instead of having to wait for it to update. Those following you and playing the same games can see what you are doing and if it is a multiplayer game, they can join in on the fun.

While keyboard shortcuts were already enabled for your Google+ Stream, you can now use them with the Gaming Stream, too.

3 New Games added to Google+ Games
Google has also added three new games: Global Warfare, EdgeWorld and CityVille.
Global Warfare was developed by Kabam and is a war game. You play as a General and you must defend your city from threats, forge alliances and try to advance into other territories.

EdgeWorld was also developed by Kabam and is a city building game similar to how you expand in Global Warfare. You play as the Union exploring, gaining resources and trying to uncover the mystery of the disappearance of the Ceruleans.

CityVille is a popular game on several social networks, particularly Facebook and was developed by Zynga. It is a city-building game like the SimCity franchise where you build a city from the ground up.

These features are minor, but they add to the functionality users are looking for in Google+.
