Finding a good pair of Bluetooth headphones to use every day is harder than it looks. Most consumers don’t want, or can’t, spend $200+ to get a pair of Bose or Sennheiser’s, no matter how much of an audiophile they are.
Finding a pair of middle of the road Bluetooth headphones can be tricky, that’s why we’re looking into better options for our audience, such as the Audition Pro from Avantree.
Let’s look at the Avantree Audition Pro Bluetooth headphones, which offer low audio latency and sound to see if they are a happy medium for consumers.
Avantree Audition Pro Bluetooth Headphones Review
Out of the box, the Audition Pro headphones are sturdy, made of quality materials, and feel good to the touch.
The controls are easy to use, easy to find, and respond quickly making these some of the best controllable Bluetooth headphones I’ve personally used.
Adjusting the headphones are easy to do and offer a wide enough range for a comfortable fit. I have relatively smaller ears, so they fit perfectly over mine. However, if you have larger ears, you may not be able to adjust these headphones to fit correctly, which might cause some sound to leak.
These headphones claim to be noise canceling so the better you can fit them; the better the overall sound quality will be. If they don’t fit tightly against the ear, you’re going to get lower sound quality and leak in background noise.
I didn’t find them to be able to cancel noise at all because of the way you adjust and fit them to your ears.
The headphones are made out of lightweight materials which doesn’t weigh down your head like others on the market. They’re comfortable and didn’t cause my ears to sweat like other headphones have in the past.
Storing the headphones is easy to do as they’re foldable and come with a hard case for traveling.
NFC/Bluetooth: One of the biggest perks of these headphones to me was how easy it was to pair both via Bluetooth and NFC. NFC offers one-tap connect which makes for quick listening with my phone, something many Bluetooth headphones fail to offer.
Wired if Needed: Avantree also provides a way to wire up the connection if you’re getting interference or the battery dies on you when you’re out which I think is another perk many other Bluetooth headphones miss out on.
No Audio Delay: Avantree boasts that there is no audio delay for watching TV, playing video games, or using them on a PC. Unfortunately, I had issues every time I paired these to my TV or PC. They were intermittent issues, but there was a slight delay in some cases, usually if I was watching a full-length film or playing a longer than average game session on either a console or PC.
Battery Life: I found the battery life to be comparable to other Bluetooth headsets on the market, with the headphones consistently lasting at the 28-30 hour mark. Avantree boasts 40 hours of music playback, and I used these to listen to music, take calls, and pair with my TV, so I’ll 28-30 hours seems more than acceptable.
Sound Quality: The sound quality is what I would expect from a pair of Bluetooth headphones under the hundred-dollar mark. They offer a pretty decent sound, especially when you take the time to change your equalizer settings on your device.
Bass Boost: I had some issues with lag and playback, but that’s also to be expected at this price point. There’s a built-in bass boost that you can turn on and off, though I found turning it off and using my phone’s equalizer settings to offer superior overall sound quality through the headphones.
I was impressed by the craftsmanship and quality of the Avantree Audition Pro Bluetooth Headphones. For the price point, you can’t ask for more from a pair of over the ear headphones.
By adjusting the fit, tinkering with the equalizer settings on your paired device, and finding the setup that’s right for you, you can get the most from the Audition Pro no matter how you’re using them.
