custom-ringtones-for-iphone

Within the iOS device settings found within the iPhone contacts page, you can easily set up and alter the ringtone for each specific contact. Ringtones, text tones and vibration patterns can all be set, allowing you to identify your favorite callers before you even reach for your iPhone.

Being able to distinguish callers via ringtone and text tone can be a great help. If your iPhone is in another room, the ringtone being played can inform you that it is either just an old acquaintance or an important work colleague.

As well as being able to choose between built-in iOS ringtones, you can also set custom vibration patterns, which are created using the iPhone’s touch screen, and a clever application buried within the iPhone’s contact settings.

If none of the pre-set vibration patterns tickle your fancy, then iOS has a pleasantly easy solution for you. Simply scroll further down the vibration settings page, until you see the button entitled “Create New Vibration.”

Tapping this button will reveal a page which allows you to manually input vibration patterns. You may use your finger to press down and drag across the screen, creating unique vibration patterns in the process.

The application is extremely easy to use and allows you to record different patterns as many times as you like, helping you to perfect the pattern. Once you are happy with your new vibration pattern, you can simply tap “Save” to assign it.

Conclusion

As previously mentioned, having the ability to differentiate between certain callers can be a huge benefit. Unwanted calls can be avoided, whilst more important ones can be quickly answered.

Additionally, it’s always nice to have such a level of customization. The iPhone readily allows you to assign different ringtones to different contacts just for fun. If for example, a particular jingle reminds your of your spouse, assigning that ringtone specifically for her is both amusing, useful and personalized which is pretty much everything you need from a modern smartphone.
