Feedback in an important part of anything we do in life, whether it is in the “real world” or online. While many of us often post our frustrations, praises and more online through social networks, how many of us actually take the time to send this feedback to developers? Google+ offers an exciting and interactive way to send feedback on the social network. This can help Google identify bugs, patch up issues and figure out what users want to see next on Google+. If you have not taken the time to give your feedback to Google, our guide will show you how their nifty feedback tool can save you time, energy and make the process painless.

How to send Google feedback on Google+

Make sure you are logged into your Google+ account. If you want to address a specific concern on a page, navigate to that page so that Google can see what you are talking about. You will see why this is important later.

Now, click the “Gear icon” in the top right-hand corner of the Google services toolbar.

Send feedback

From there, click on the “Send Feedback” link.

Analyzing the page, please wait...

It will take Google a few moments to analyze your page.

When it does, you will be able to interact with a frozen page in order to send more reliable and detailed feedback to Google.

Send Feedback

You will see a Send Feedback box on the right-hand side of your screen.

You can use this box to enter your comments, concerns, and frustrations. Make sure to explain your feedback in as much as detail as possible.

When detailing the issues you are having with Google+, you want to be as thorough as possible. Try to avoid blanket statements or other sentences that do nothing to illustrate your point. You want to be as detailed and precise as to what your issue is as well as what you were doing when it occurred. If you are offering up suggestions on a particular page, you also want to ensure you are offering constructive feedback to help developers point themselves in the right direction. Without detailed feedback, you might as well simply send Google nothing because it does no one any good without truly know what the issue is or what the suggestion might be to fix it.

You can use the two tools above the feedback box to actually highlight or block out personal information before you send in your feedback.

Click the “Highlight” button.

Highlight

Now, navigate up and down the page before you. You will be able to highlight any area of the page to point out what you are sending feedback about.

Highlighting

A black box will appear around the area for you to highlight.

You can also highlight multiple areas by setting a highlight, then clicking the Highlight button again.

Now, click the “Black out” button in the Send feedback window.

Black out

This will allow you to black out any and all personal information. While Google strives to keep your information safe, if you are concerned about who will be viewing it, you can use this tool to block it out from developers.

Simply navigate to the areas you want to blackout, set the tool and then move on to a new area. You can black out as much information as you want.

After you have used the Highlight and Black out tools as well as detailed your problem, you can click “Preview” to see how your feedback will be sent to Google.

Opening preview...

It will take just a few moments for Google to create the preview.

Feedback preview

Once created, you will see the page as you highlighted and blacked it out at the bottom. You will also see the details of your issue in the top left while other information pertinent to Google’s team of developers about the page in question.

Make sure you have read and understood the Terms of Service about sending feedback to Google. Basically, you are agreeing to allow them to use your feedback to help make Google+ and other products, services and better.

When you are ready to send your feedback to Google, click “Send feedback to Google.”

Thank you for your feedback!

A pop-up will appear thanking you for taking the time to send Google feedback.

Google does not guarantee to send you a follow-up or any other information about what you sent to them. However, they have been known to reach out to users depending on the issue at hand and the scope of the feedback in some cases.
