Looking for added functionality with Twitter images? Ever want to see what a profile pic in Twitter looks like without having to actually open a profile, click the picture and wait for Twitter to load it? With Photo Zoom for Twitter, you can simply hover over a profile pic whether it’s in your sidebar, stream or on a list to see a larger rendition instantly.
We’ll show you how to use this insanely easy extension for Chrome. We’ll also show you how to get started with Previeweet, which gives you small previews of Twitter images and videos to the right of the tweet they’re attached to.
How to use Photo Zoom for Twitter

Head to the Chrome Web Store and check out Zoom for Twitter.
Once you learn a little bit more about it, click on “Add to Chrome.”
Then, click “Add” to confirm the permissions Photo Zoom for Twitter needs to work in Google Chrome.
Once installed, there’s no need for a restart or anything, simply head to Twitter.
Now, you can hover over any profile pic no matter where it resides on Twitter, and get a larger pic to the right of your screen.
This works for every profile pic on the site and can be a quick way to get a better look at what someone is using to represent themselves on Twitter.
How to use Previeweet
The awesome thing about Previeweet is that it works with Twitpic, Instagram, YouTube and more. So for any functionality that has been turned off by Twitter or a developer, for instance, Instagram, you can still get an idea of what you’re looking at before you get a bigger picture.
Head to Previeweet’s Chrome Web Store Page.
Click on “Add to Chrome.”
Then, click “Add.”
Now that you have Previeweet installed, head back to your Twitter stream.
You’ll see previews of pictures and YouTube videos to the right of tweets they come attached to.
You’ll also be told what service is hosting it by the little icon in the right-hand corner of the preview.
If you hover over any Twitter-based uploads, you’ll get a large Photo Zoom-like preview of it without having to click a link to see it up close.
If you see an Instagram-based post, you’ll get a preview to the picture but still have to click the link to see it bigger.
Do you really need to see pictures better on Twitter?
The answer is yes! While Twitter is clear, concise and all about minimum words for maximum impact, sometimes a picture speaks a thousand words. With Previeweet and Photo Zoom for Twitter, you can quickly get a visual idea of who someone is and what they’re sharing before clicking away to see just what it is they’ve tweeted.
