5. Crysis 2 (PC, PS3, Xbox 360)
Crysis 2 is an upcoming first person shooter game set to release in March 2011. The first edition of the game was just for PC but Crysis 2 is set to release on the consoles as well.

Crysis 2 is setup in New York City in the year 2023, which has been invaded by aliens. The game still offers a sandbox environment with the players having the freedom to decide their actions and movement. The urban setting offers more options in how to progress and plan attacks. The game which set new visual benchmark offers jaw-dropping graphics even on consoles. The game is said to have the “most intelligent enemies ever.” Even if that turns out to be an exaggeration, Crysis 2 is seems set to be every bit as good as its predecessor, if not better.
6. Guild Wars 2 (PC)
The original Guild Wars was an intriguing game combining hack n slash features of a RPG with strategy gaming. The online interaction features were limited, restricted to certain areas of the game – a point on which developer ArenaNet got immense feedback and is now working on it.

Guild Wars 2 is set take the form of a MMO and will be released sometime in 2011. The game will not only offer a fully shared, persistent world where all players could interact at once but will also let the actions of the player affect the world. Developed on a system that differs from other games of the genre, Guild Wars 2 appears extremely promising and may turn out to be a strong competitor to the World of Warcraft.
7. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (Wii)
The Legend of Zelda is one of the biggest franchises of Nintendo and the latest edition, Skyward Sword, promises to be better than the earlier titles in the series.

The game, which looks to be much more reliant on motion-control moves and an improved control system that is much more responsive than before, is planned to be released in 2011. This surely is one of the hottest releases of the year on Wii.
8. Duke Nukem Forever (PC, PS3, Xbox 360)
First person shooters have seen two ages. The age of all other FPS games and the age of Duke Nukem. And that age is set to come back with Duke Nukem Forever. The king is back!
When they named it forever, they were right, Duke Nukem did take forever. I just can’t wait to get my hands on this one, it’s been too long, but I bet it would be worth the wait.

Gearbox has picked up the project from 3D Realms last year and is set to meld this memorable hero with the latest 3D graphics technology. The Duke is back, doing what he is best at – Spouting one-liners, blowing up aliens and being pure fun. At first look, the game is impressive with satisfying guns and combat and pleasing graphics. Release is planned in late 2011. This is one FPS to look out for!
